Shrikhand is specially prepared during Gokulashtami festival. It is a simple Indian dessert from Western India, made with strained yogurt and flavored with cardamom and saffron. This delicious chilled yoghurt dessert can be garnished with chopped dry fruits and nuts. It is important to use freshly ground cardamom seeds. One can use fruits to flavor this dish. It is generally served with puris.
