Khoya Paneer is a delicacy for any Ceremonial Food in India.

:: Ingredients ::

  • Grated Khoya - 1 cup
  • Paneer - 150 gms
  • Tomato Paste - of 2 tomatoes
  • Onion Paste - 3 tsp (of 2 onions)
  • Chopped ginger - 1 tsp
  • Chopped chillies - 1 tsp
  • Cumin seeds - 2 tsp
  • Uncooked cashewnuts - 6
  • Chopped coriander - 4 tsp
  • Red chilli powder - 1 tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Ghee - 5 tsp
  • :: Method ::
  • In a heavy pan, add ghee and fry the grated Khoya. Stir till light brown.
  • Then add a paste of chopped ginger, green chillies and Cuminseeds. Stir well.
  • Add uncooked cashewnuts paste and tomato paste.
  • In another pan, fry the onion paste without oil and add it to the gravy.
  • Add salt, and stir. Pour water and allow it to cook. Gravy is ready.
  • Cut the paneer into square cubes and deep fry them in oil till golden colour. Add the paneer cubes into the gravy and mix well.
  • Garnish with chopped coriander leaves.

    Ricotta Cheese can be substituted for Khoya.
